Curriculum (Unless otherwise noted, each course is 4 quarter units). Currently all BENG courses are offered once a year.

EFFECTIVE FALL 2015: BENG 109 (Bioengineering Statics and Dynamics) and BENG 101 (Foundations of Biomedical Imaging) have been approved by the Academic Senate to for removal from the curriculum. Students who have already taken either course may choose to use them towards Technical Elective requirements. Please reference the Fall 2015 flowchart.


If you have satisfied one or more courses by Advance Placement ("AP") from high school, enroll in the next course in the series (e.g. if "AP" credit exempts you from MATH 20A, enroll in MATH 20B).

Freshmen and Transfer Students

Go to http://www.ucsd.edu.catalog.courses.BENG.html to read the Bioengineering (BENG) departmental course descriptions in the UCSD General Catalog.  Additionally, visit similar sites to review the course descriptions for courses required in your major that are offered by other departments.
