A Joint Symposium between the National Yang Ming University (NYMU) of Taiwan, and the University of California, San Diego, will be held at UCSD on December 8-9, 2010. NYMU is one of the four universities that constitute the University System in Taiwan (UST). UST and Academia Sinica in Taiwan signed a Letter of Intent on an Exchange Program with Chancellor Fox on August 15, 2007, to engage in educational and research cooperation in fields to be agreed upon by the participating units at the cooperating institutions. NYMU and UCSD have held Bilateral Symposia at alternating sites since the first one at NYMU in Taipei in 2007. The 2010 Symposium will be the fourth one in the series. The Institute of Engineering in Medicine (IEM) of UCSD is responsible for the organization of this Symposium.
