Career Information

Careers in bioengineering involve working on solutions to challenging problems from a diverse array of topics such as: tissue engineering, drug delivery systems, artificial blood, organ-replacement systems, and cardiac-assist and orthopedic devices.

In order to enhance career training and skills derived from academic course work, students are encouraged to participate in various activities outside the classroom such as conferences, industry seminars and presentations, networking events, and internships.

The UCSD Career Services Center, Jacobs School of Engineering IDEA Student Center (formerly Engineering Student Services) and the undergraduate student organization, BMES, provide students additional avenues within which they may pursue career information.
